The Challenge:

A mother who had previously submitted two unsuccessful visitor visa applications—one of which had been rejected and the other followed by a vague Potentially Prejudicial Information (PPI) letter—sought to visit her two daughters living in New Zealand. Her self-lodged applications included unnecessary and problematic documentation, complicating her case and triggering repeated scrutiny. 
Our Solution:

Upon engagement, we immediately requested an extension to the PPI response deadline and successfully negotiated an additional 25 working days. While awaiting INZ file notes through a Privacy Act request, we proactively assessed the existing submission and anticipated the issues likely to be raised by the immigration officer. Based on this, we provided the applicant with a detailed and relevant document checklist. When the INZ notes arrived, they confirmed our assessments were accurate, allowing us to craft a targeted legal response and submit them before the deadline.

The visitor visa was approved.
